In order to address the increasing inhuman approach regarding the industrial wokers in working spaces, the project of psychological research centre initited by a university in association with the industry owners who aim at creating better productivity in their workers through better work environments is aimed to be a human recursion project. The project is made near a deteriorated and polluted water channel of River Ravi in Lahore, where the worsening condition of Ravi and top down development approach on the area is making the natives, labour class dominantly,of this area, lose the sense of owmership over the natural and cuty resources here. This university affiliated Psychological researxh centre tends to study the impact on the target user on site.
This includes two parts, one is for the workers and spills out into a public space, while theresearch labs are connected to the student library, seminar room and the representative desks area where industrialists and researchers collaborate and have meeting. The other part, where the has the industrial working area, public square with wetland,to monitor the behaviours both at work and in a leisure spce where they can have a better sense of ownership of the prototypes of natural resources of their area which are aklso kept in a better condition than the already presesnt one.A sandwiched part between these two that grows around the two blocks is the monitoring area that steps down into the sunken workers area through cafe and amphitheatre terraces, all the way out into the public square. There is a wetland that has a filtered portion of River Ravi water, through sedimentation,in the public square, where all the work spaces, kitchen, cafe and amphitheatre terraces look out into.
The psychological research centre with all its work spaces, and the monitoring spaces is made in raw concrete, using its exposed outlook,5 feet sunken into ground, with the play and customisation of light and shadow play in various spaces during different times of the day tends to positively impact the labourers working environment.
