Idea projektu

From an urban planning perspective, the proposal takes into account the historical development of Kamenné Square over time. Historical layers of former buildings and their courtyards from the early 20th century are acknowledged within the paving design, reinforcing the reference to the demolished structures and their historical connections. The paving is designed as recycled material. The original asphalt is reused to create recycled exterior terrazzo.

The revealed courtyard areas are designed as an alternation of paved, green, and water surfaces. Their outlines are highlighted with LED lighting to enhance their visibility after sunset.

Popis projektu

The accessible roof of the Prior department store is revitalized, restoring its social function. At the tip of Kamenné Square, an underground forecourt is proposed, connected to the underground level of the Prior department store. Around the perimeter of this space, ramps are placed to provide access to parking on the second underground level.

In the area of the current vacant lot, the completion of two buildings is proposed to form a compact inner block. The T-shaped building mass is inserted between two existing structures. The building consists of seven above-ground floors. It contains residential units, with a ground floor serving the residents of the building. Office spaces are also located on the 6th and 7th floors.

Technické informace

The building height, floor levels, and the positioning of window openings respond to the existing surrounding development. In terms of materials, the building is designed as reinforced concrete with insulation and plaster. Individual floors are accentuated with horizontal joint detailing in the plaster.

On the northern side of the building, an exterior gallery corridor is proposed, with openings that respect the geometry of the window design. The same principle is applied in the design of the loggias. Underground parking is proposed within the inner block, directly connected to the proposed T-shaped building.
